DPF fluid reservoir
To regenerate Diesel Particle Filters (DPF or soot filters) and remove accumulated soot particles, the temperature in the filter must be very high. Regeneration fluid encapsulates the soot particles, causing them to burn at lower temperatures. This is particularly important for cars that generally drive short journeys and therefore do not or hardly reach operating temperature. JLM aftermarket regeneration fluid is suitable for amongst others, the brands Peugeot, Citroën, Ford, Volvo, Fiat, Lancia, Mazda,
Volkswagen, Skoda and Mini.
DPF Fluid reservoir
Soot is created during diesel combustion in the engine. This soot is collected by the diesel particulate filter (DPF). Over time, the particulate filter will become saturated and the car's computer will ensure that the waste is regenerated. This regeneration is only possible if the engine is at operating temperature. If operating temperature is not achieved, for example if the vehicle only drives short journeys, regeneration will not occur and the DPF will become clogged.
A special fluid is used to burn the soot earlier and at a lower temperature. The fluid is held in a reservoir that will empty over time and must be periodically topped up. JLM supplies both the refill fluid and the equipment and instructions needed to top up the fluid.
